Each year the CBFFAC presents a minimum of two $500.00 scholarships at our Annual GALA & CBP Appreciation Dinner in honor of Jackson H. Daniel and in memory of Elaine Richardson Chandler. Recipients are randomly selected from applicants that meet the following criteria: employee or legal dependent of a current CBFFAC member, resident of South Carolina, and accepted or attending an accredited South Carolina college, university, or online college.

Each year, the S.C. International Trade Conference presents scholarships to students in memory of Mrs. Margaret A. Patrick, who was instrumental in the development of the Trade Conference and its outstanding support of transportation education, and in memory of W. Don Welch, the former executive director of the South Carolina State Ports Authority.
Beyond this scholarship offer, students are also invited to attend the Conferences daily business sessions at no charge. These sessions are planned to be held at Wild Dunes Resort, Sweet Grass Pavilion, on the Isle of Palms. Each session will be led by professionals who are confronted daily by a variety of international trade and logistics issues. The Lowcountry Manufacturers Council (www.lmcsc.org) is sponsoring the $1,500 Scholarship in Manufacturing, Engineering & Science for a graduating high school senior in the Tri-County area. The mission of the Lowcountry Manufacturers Council is to enhance the competitiveness, promote development and impact the manufacturing sector of the Lowcountry of South Carolina.

The CBFFAC has supported the National Transportation Week scholarship program for many years. The CBFFAC sponsors a $1,000.00 scholarship that is presented at the annual banquet. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
I. Applicant must be a high school senior graduating in 2015; OR
Student must be enrolled/enrolling in an accredited school, institution,
II. Applicant must also meet ONE of the following criteria:
a. Majoring in transportation or logistics (Full or Part-time student)
b. Be a member of an NTW organization
c. Be a dependent of an NTW organization member
d. Be sponsored by an NTW member
III. Provide an official academic transcript.
IV. Provide a list of Extra Curricular Activities, Civic, and Community Involvement.
V. Submit a 2 page double spaced essay on one of the following topics:
– Explain how transportation and logistics industries affect the ‘American’ way
– What aspect of transportation and logistics is most important to South
